Intro To Skating

Skating School offers an Intro to Skating class. During Intro to Skating, skaters learn the basic skills and proper technique for the sport of roller skating. This class is ideal for the young skater and will use games and props to facilitate a fun learning environment. The goal of this class is to incorporate basic skill learning through the act of play with props and music and is open to all beginning skaters.


Basic Technique

Skating School of Orlando offers a Basic Technique Class. This class covers all basic movements that will enable a skater to develop their skill. It develops the fundamental movements and teaches the theory of roller skating. This will build a solid foundation, enabling the athlete to grow into a refined, advanced skater.


Advanced Technique

Skating School of Orlando offers a class in Advanced Techniques. Advanced Techniques focuses on core strength, extension, power, and edge. This class is taught using the Training Methods of Natalia Dubova. This class is for advanced skaters and requires a coach’s approval to participate.


Precision

Skating School offers a group Precision class. During Precision, skaters practice a variety of basic to advanced skills while learning to work as a team to create artistic group formations. The goal of this class is to teach skaters to work together effectively creating moving works of art. The focus is to teach skaters to mirror each other and blend so that the element is showcased with no one skater standing out.


Singles

Skating School of Orlando offers a Singles Class. This class is also known as Freestyle. This class develops the fundamentals of Jumping and spinning on roller skates. The class focuses on the individual, and furthers their strength and technique. This class improves flexibility, core strength, agility, and balance. The most important mental skill needed in this class is focus.


Figures

Skating school of orlando offers a figure class. Figures are the ultimate fundamentals of roller figure skating. This class will develop all aspects of figures. A skater will learn how to create pure edge and precise strike offs, both forward and back ward. This process will give them an excellent body awareness, allowing them to learn the various one foot turns. Everything learned here will be necessary in all aspects of the sport. This is an advanced class and must have the director’s approval.


Dance

Skating School of Orlando offers a Dance Class. During Dance skaters explore jazz, hip hop, ballet, and contemporary dance while utilizing the art of rhythmic movement on roller skates. We teach skaters how to interpret music with their body language and facial expressions. The school’s goal in this class it to create a safe place for the skater to express themselves with body movement and develop a strong confident presence.


Quartet

Quartet is for advanced skaters and requires a coach’s approval to participate. During Quartet class skaters practice various skills while learning to work as a team to create artistic groups of four in formations. Skaters learn to trust their team mates and to work together as a team. These quartet groups often go on to compete on a local and national level.


Tiny Tot

Our Tiny Tots will love our Intro to Skating class. During Intro to Skating, skaters learn the basic skills and proper technique for the sport of roller skating. This class is ideal for the young skater and will use games and props to facilitate a fun learning environment. The goal of this class is to incorporate basic skill learning through the act of play with props and music and is open to all beginning skaters.
